Students & Young People
Students and Young people. Not outwards but inward appearance
Date:
Sunday, 10 July 2011
Scripture:
1 Samuel 16:1-13
Speaker:

Length:
10:06
Hits:

Notes:
Samuel had to anoint one of Jesse's sons to be king of Israel after Saul as Saul had dissapointed. Which one would it be? All of Jesse's sons are paraded before Samuel but one was forgotten.
David was chosen although he was overlooked. This does not mean to say that he was not equipped or did not have the appearence of a king. David was in fact talented and a good and dedicated shepherd. We are often mistaken, believing that the passage this message is based on suggests that God only chooses people that we would never choose. This is not true. God chooses indiscriminately. Some that appear equipped for the task that we would have chosen too, and others that appear to be a misfit.
