Christian apologetics does not mean a Christian apology! Quite the opposite. Apologetics is about providing a strong factual justification for our faith.
The accusation that Christianity is "just a matter of belief" or "blind faith" continues to make me cross. There is greater evidence for the truth of Christianity (the existence of God, the resurrection of Christ, etc) than there is for many other things that we accept without question on a day to day basis.
Apologetics will never cause a non-Christian to become a Christian. However, sound apologetics can help remove stumbling blocks to belief in Jesus. It can also assist Christians by removing or alleviating doubts.
