Some Christians can adopt the philosophy of the world that we should allways be "one up" on
This is how we can rid ourselves of the worlds theories and ways. Read the word of God daily (Rom. 12:2 - "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.").
Your way of thinking will change and your thoughts along with it. Your view on giving will see it as a normal part of life, serving as better than being served, giving as superior to recieving. You will start to live many other principals which lead to a healthy life one that has been ignored much to the deficit of society.
Don't be ashamed of going against the grain, WE are the salt of the world.
