"My heart is steadfast, O God;
I will sing and make music with all my soul.
Awake, harp and lyre!
I will awaken the dawn.
I will praise you, O LORD, among the nations;
I will sing of you among the peoples."

Psalms 108 :1-3 |
Sing to the Lord this morning, here is why: - It is clearly stated in the bible that David (who had a right heart) sung daily and rejoiced in the Lord a lot. He expressed himself with songs when he was: upset, depressed, repentful and happy, he praised the Lord all the same.
The enemy (in this case Saul) could take David's family, freinds and comforts away and even force him to live far from the tabernacle but they could not take away his song. This was dericted to God. It was in songs (or Psalms) that David expressed himself before the Lord even in a deep dark cave, and the Lord was listening in. - The righteous kings of Israel went out to battle singing praises and they occasionally did not have to fight because the Lord made them victorious in praise.
Sing a new song to the Lord from the heart. As the Lord listened to David he listens to you also! If you don't sing in tune don't worry; God looks at the heart not the tone!
