"Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you."

Ever meant to do something you never got around to? If you're anything like me, your excuse is probably that you meant to do it well and that it would take more time or effort or resources than you can give. In Luke 22, the disciples follow to the letter Jesus' instructions on the last Passover meal when Jesus would institute the most intimate of covenants with them. Amazingly "They left and found things just as Jesus had told them"(Lk 22:13). God doesn't make mistakes.
Obedience takes faith and that can be scary. But remember our faith is never blind because God is God. His plan is perfect.
God requires obedience more than the fanfare of sacrifices and 'worthy' offerings (1 Sam 15:22). God doesn't want the best in the eyes of the world, just our best. The verse above reminds us of a simple truth. Obedience, by definition, is immediate and implicit.
