"Do not take advantage of a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether that worker is an Israelite or is a foreigner residing in one of your towns. Pay them their wages each day before sunset, because they are poor and are counting on it. Otherwise they may cry to the LORD against you, and you will be guilty of sin."

Deuteronomy 24:14-15

Daily Meditation

fRIDAY 9th May 2008

By all means we must be just in the way we treat our brother, in first place it is because our conscience indicates us to do so; let's do to our brother according to what our conscience tells us is just. In second instance, if our needy brother was to cry out to God against us then our deed would be uncovered before the Lord.
Jesus - evangelical church oxford
In the world today it appears to be "intelligent" or witty when somebody wins over another person. In this passage these acts of "intelligence" or wittyness are seen as sins (verse 16). In todays world this may appear as a normal occurrence and making the most of the situation. We are not of this world, it would be better for us to have nothing & no position on earth rather than lose our position before the Lord! We must change our way of thinking by reading and meditating on the word - Romans 12:2

"..For he who is least among you all he is the greatest.", Jesus (Luke 9:48)

Rivers of Life Churches

Rivers of Life churches are evangelical and charismatic. The Oxford church meets one mile from the city centre in Marston. We have grown out of the Rivers of Life family of churches, formed in about 1965. We are English speaking congregations but have a strong Latin input and we have many Spanish speaking churches. There are two Rivers of Life churches in the UK – one in Oxford and the other in Bangor, North Wales, and about 80 other churches around the world.

Our beliefs in practice

We believe that God adds to the church as it follows the same principles and practices as the early church did in the Acts of the Apostles. We believe passionately that Jesus’ people live to glorify Him in praise and worship, to be formed into His loving family and to pray for and reach out to the world around. Our meetings are in the style of the early church with everyone participating in Bible reading, prayer, praise and worship. with raising of hands, dancing, singing in the spirit, etc. We are members of the Evangelical Alliance. Why not pay us a visit?
